(b. 1986, Padua) gained his undergraduate degree in Industrial and Communication Design at Iuav University of Venice in 2009, then freelanced, founding a design studio NOOO in his hometown. After working as graphic designer, photographer, video maker, event planner, street vendor, musician and DJ, he decided in 2012 to continue his studies by joining Iuav’s Master’s in Design, specialising in Interaction Design.

PORTFOLIO
A selection of projects developed at the IUAV IxD lab and during my degree program:
Narang
Prison necessarily separates prisoners from full communication with the outside world. Narang restores some of the non-verbal part of this communication. Using a smartphone app, a prisoner’s family or friends can choose between nine simple messages of affection or support to send him. Strangers, walking past the prison, can also send a message of encouragement to a random cell and its prisoners.
Teamwork: Ruggero Baracco, Luigi Frettoloso and Dante Fusco.
My role: During the prototyping phase my main contribution was in coding the device and its connections. Before starting I thought it would be harder but in fact it was quite intuitive. I’ve been a nightmare for my tutors for sure. I think we all gained new knowledge and worked on different tasks and topics.

D!VE
D!ve is an interactive system accessed by mobile phone to guide drunk people and their friends around the city, enjoy socializing, and protect them from physical, mental and cultural obstacles. D!ve gives drunkards a civil and elegant appearance, takes care of their health, and lets them enjoy their inebriation. You’ll want to get drunk!
Teamwork: Ruggero Baracco, Eleonora Finotto, Nicola Gubernale and Mengyang Pei.
My role: The first phases of the project were more organised as a teamwork, chaotic and confusing. Each of us contributed regardless of their abilities. It was more like an evening in a pub after a long working day.
On the final prototyping phase, my main task was to coordinate the coding of D!ve, working on the more interactive part of the app (quite hard from the programming side) and combining the whole code.

Weather Report
Weather report is an interactive installation for the visualization of dynamic meteorological data. The data is imported in XML format from openweathermap.org depending on inputs of latitude and longitude determined by the position of the person detected by a kinect depth-map on a map placed on the floor (the camera is above the user).
The acquired data are displayed through temperature (color), wind (speed and loops), pressure (opacity) in a Max MSP sketch. The project was developed during the Performing Arts Laboratory at Iuav.
